Terms & conditions

The service

Petak is a personal assistant app: neighbours who file what you send them — spending, meals, thoughts, shared bills — and answer when you ask. Using Petak means agreeing to these terms; if you don't agree, don't use it.

Price and payment

One petak is free and stays free — you can swap who lives there every 30 days. Further neighbours roll into a single subscription with one price and one renewal date, billed through your app store. The price is shown before you agree to anything, and a new neighbour changes the price from the day they move in — your app store prorates the difference.

Petak Coins buy photo credits and extras. A neighbour is a subscription — coins never buy one, and photo credits are never sold for cash directly.

Leaving

Stop paying for a neighbour and three things happen: they leave at the end of the paid period, your records stay, and your photo allowance returns to what it was. No exit surveys, no retention offers. Delete your account and everything goes with it, on request.

Photo allowance and fair use

Daily allowances keep the street fast for everyone. Allowances reset daily and don't roll over; kept credits never expire. A photo is charged when something is read from it, never when it's sent — and one capture read by two neighbours is still one credit. We may adjust allowances to keep the service healthy; if we do, you'll be told plainly and in advance.

Your content

Everything you send stays yours. You give us only the licence needed to store it, read it when you ask, and serve it back to you. Don't send what isn't yours to send, and don't use Petak for anything unlawful.

Not advice

Neighbours state facts from what you give them and estimates are labelled as estimates. They are not financial, medical or legal advisers — Milo can count your calories; he cannot diagnose you, and he'll say so if you ask.

What we're liable for

We provide Petak with care, but as-is: readings can be wrong (that's why every entry shows its source and can be corrected in chat). To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you've paid us in the last twelve months. Nothing here limits rights the law says can't be limited.

Changes and contact

If these terms change in a way that matters, we say so in the app before it takes effect. Questions go to [email protected] — a person answers.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and disputes go to the courts of Singapore — after we've tried to sort it out by email first, which we genuinely will.
